Healthcare Payments Data (HPD) Services Report

The age range a member falls into based on age on the last day of the reporting period.

Age Band

The member's assigned sex at birth as reported on the enrollment records.

Assigned Sex at Birth

This field identifies the county associated with the member's residence based on ZIP code.

County Name

This field identifies the county associated with the member's residence based on ZIP code, with LA County represented by its eight Service Planning Areas (SPAs).

County Name Plus SPA

This field identifies the Covered California Region associated with the member's residence based on ZIP code.

Covered California Region

Payers are the companies, programs, and organizations that oversee insurance plans and reimburse healthcare providers. The three main types of payers are Commercial, Medi-Cal, and Medicare.

Payer Type

This field indicates the name of the RBCS category or subcategory that the relevant data belongs to. If belonging to a subcategory, the field will list the name of the major category followed by the subcategory name.

Service Category

The total count of unique members who received at least one service during the reporting year.

Member Count

The total count of member enrollment months. See the technical notes documentation for information on the calculation for the Service Rate per 1,000 members.

Medical Coverage Months

The total count of services during the reporting year.

Service Count

This field identifies whether the member count, medical coverage months and service count were suppressed for the given reporting period.
