i07 Water Shortage Vulnerability Small Water Systems

This feature class includes water shortage vulnerability indicators and scores from an analysis done by CA Department of Water Resources Small Water System boundaries pulled from the SWRCB (State Water Resource Control Board) water system service area boundary layer (SABL). The water systems were then restricted to only active water systems with under 3000 connections that had SDWIS (Safe Drinking Water Information System) data. Therefore, small water systems that do not have spatial boundaries available, or were inactive at the time of analysis may not be reflected in this dataset. Indicators were pulled from various data sources, please refer to the Drought and Water Shortage Vulnerability Scoring: Small Water Systems documentation for more information on how the indicators were calculated and weighted. The EAR 2020 surveys (submitted by water system to the SWB in 2021) and SDWIS extraction from 4/21/2022 are the primary sources of data for this analysis. Please refer to the source metadata for more information on completeness. The goal of this data is to provide a spatial representation of various factors that can affect water shortage vulnerability in small water systems. The category of small water systems intends to focus on what is required to be planned for by small water systems, following SB 552. This is intended to cover active water systems with under 3000 services connections. The associated data are considered DWR enterprise GIS data, which meet all appropriate requirements of the DWR Spatial Data Standards, specifically the DWR Spatial Data Standard version 3.4, dated September 14, 2022. DWR makes no warranties or guarantees — either expressed or implied— as to the completeness, accuracy, or correctness of the data. DWR neither accepts nor assumes liability arising from or for any incorrect, incomplete, or misleading subject data. Comments, problems, improvements, updates, or suggestions should be forwarded to gis@water.ca.gov.
