2021 Named Freeways, Highways, Structures and Other Appurtenances in California

The name assigned to the route or route segment based on designation from one of four different sources: the California State Legislature, the California Highway Commission (no longer in existence and replaced by the California Transportation Commission), local jurisdictions, and through historical or common usage.

The unique State Route number assigned to the route or routes for which the named facility exists within.  Multiple route numbers are separated by a comma.  Route numbers may also include a suffix value of S or U.  S stands for supplemental route and U stands for unrelinquished route.

The Caltrans District or District numbers for which the named facility exists within.  Multiple district numbers are separated by a comma.

County of where the named facility resides, may include general description of area.

Description where facility begins, typically identified by the near cross street from an intersection, city name, route junction or postmile. 

Description where facility ends, typically identified by the near cross street from an intersection, city name, route junction or postmile. 

Concurrent Resolution number (Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) or Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR)), Chapter and Year that introduced the named facility into the Legislature. 

Official structure number assigned by Caltrans

Year of original construction. For some older bridges, this may be an estimate

Description where facility begins, typically identified by the near cross street from an intersection, city name, or route junction.

Description where facility ends, typically identified by the near cross street from an intersection, city name, or route junction.

Facility type assigned to the route or route segment based on the designation from one of seven categories:  Named Freeway (FWY), Named State Highway or Road (SH),  Named Bridges, Tunnels, Interchanges and other Structures (BTS), Blue Star Memorial Highways (BSM), Historical Usage Names (HU), Safety Roadside Rest Areas and Scenic Overlooks (SRR), and Memorial Plaques and other Markers (P).
