This is Volume 3 of a series of 5 Snapshot reports highlighting key information about what was happening in the waters of the North Coast region from 2014-2016. This series supports the comprehensive State of the Region Report. This report highlights some key scientific findings from the Socioeconomics of North Coast Fisheries project, one of eleven baseline projects in California’s North Coast region.1 This project characterized the socioeconomic condition of fishing communities around the time of marine protected area (MPA) implementation. Facts and figures are derived from the project’s peer-reviewed technical report and associated references.
